If you love a soft cheese, Friesblond Young is a good choice: this lovely soft cheese has matured for 5 to 7 weeks.
Friesblond grew out of the wish to develop a cheese from our Frisian roots: down to earth and no frills, or 100% “natuerlik” as they say there. Cheese as it ought to be: naturally matured, with a lovely, creamy flavour. It is also made with care for the wellbeing of the cows and a love of nature.

The Friesblond flavour

You will recognise this young cheese by its fresh flavour, and the cheese lover will pick out its characteristic hint of sweetness.
Friesblond is made with meadow milk from pastures where not only grass grows, but clover, meadow flowers and a great deal more besides. The high-quality meadow milk is supplied regionally by the dairy farmers.
This fine young cheese is made in the heart of Friesland, at the creamery in Heerenveen. The cheesemakers work with the most modern techniques, but Friesblond is deliberately made in the traditional way.

The maturing method shapes the flavour too. Our Friesblond is matured naturally. After production each cheese takes its own place on a wooden plank in our cheese store, where they lie maturing until they have developed the typical Friesblond flavour entirely naturally. That takes more time, but it delivers flavour. We want to make the tastiest cheese, after all. You can taste that too.
