We also call this little cheese Boerenkilo Naturel. Boerenkaas, farmhouse cheese, is made from raw milk, which is part of why it is such a popular kind. The name is protected, so not every cheese may be called Boerenkaas. This flavourful little farmhouse cheese reaches us as a whole cheese and we send it on as a whole cheese, so we do not cut into it. Do bear in mind that the weight more often comes out around 800 grams; it varies a little from cheese to cheese. That, though, is exactly how you can tell it is made by hand.
