Farmhouse Cheese
Boerenkaas is a protected term, so not every cheese may be called Boerenkaas. The name may only be given to cheeses made in the traditional way: on the farmer's own farm and with milk from largely his own cows. That way you know exactly where the cheese comes from. This means these cheeses meet the requirements of Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG). Boerenkaas cheeses therefore also carry the TSG mark.
